Take Really Good Care of Yourself
You can easily miss taking care of yourself (and if you don't who will?)
It's pretty tough to be understanding, rational, and supportive in the often-sticky situations that just show up in life, when you are run-down, tired, and feeling like you are always in 'give, give, give' mode.
Giving to others is fine, but it needs to be balanced with giving to yourself as well. If not, you will likely end up feeling resentful and exhausted.
Many people think taking good care of yourself means simply eating healthy foods and exercising.
Yes, that's true, and both can be an important part of your self-care.
However, taking good care of yourself also means finding many ways to enjoy your day, doing things you love to do, and feeding your soul.
What does taking good care of yourself mean to you? What would your life look like and feel like if you did?
Find one way you can give to yourself each day. Be creative.
What do you most love to do? Create a list with at least 20 items on it that give you joy, or make you smile, or keep you happy.
When was the last time you did those things?
It is time to include them in your life on a regular basis. Some you may be able to include daily, such as finding a quiet moment to read your favorite book or taking a bath at the end of a long day. Some may require more planning, such as getting away with a group of friends for a fishing weekend.
The things in life that make you smile and keep you happy are very important. They are worth planning for. They are worth making sure they are part of your life on a regular basis.
